Available Positions

We are looking for researchers to join our group at the University of Chicago! See below for information on positions for postdocs, graduate students, data scientists, undergrads, and high school students.

Ideal candidates will have a quantitative background and interest in computational analysis of genomic data. We mainly recruit individuals with computer programming experience, but depending on the position, also welcome inquiries from candidates with other backgrounds if their research interests align with the lab's focus.

If you find our research interesting and want to apply, please follow the guidelines below.

Postdoctoral Associates

If you are interested in joining the lab as a postdoc, you are encouraged to email Ran, and provide a brief cover letter detailing research experience and interests, your CV, and contact information for three references. Informal inquiries are always welcome. The ideal candidate would be motivated to conduct independent research, and hold a PhD in genetics, bioinformatics, evolutionary biology, computer science, statistics, microbiology, anthropology, or a related field, with a solid publication record. Candidates should have a strong analytical background, have experience with analysis of genomics data, and fluency in at least one programming language.

Graduate Students

We are currently recruiting for graduate students to join the lab at the University of Chicago! We accept students from across UChicago Biosciences Graduate Programs, including:

Candidates would ideally have a quantitative biology education, with experience in computer programming and genomic data analysis. However, we also welcome inquiries from students who don't have computational experience but are eager to learn. If you are interested, please first email Ran to discuss fit, providing a short introduction, a CV, your transcript, and contact information for two references.

Bioinformaticians / Data Scientists

We are looking to recruit staff scientists in bioinformatics or data science. This position will focus on analysis of genomics data, and especially processing, integration, and visualization of multi-omic data using machine learning. If you are interested, you are encouraged to email Ran with an informal inquiry, and provide a brief cover letter detailing research experience and interests, your CV, and contact information for three references.

Undergraduates

We welcome undergraduates interested in training in computational genomics and participating in our research. Email Ran with a short introduction, a brief CV, and your transcript.

High School Students

We welcome inquiries from high school students interested in taking part in our research. Email Ran with a short introduction and a brief CV.
